Released as a single from the band's debut album, Talking Heads: '77, "Psycho Killer" became associated with the Son of Sam serial murders in NYC the year before. The band has denied the connection since it began performing the song well before those events. Bassist Tina Weymouth contributed the lyrics for the chorus, in French. Fittingly, it remains one of the Talking Heads' most enduring, signature tracks: catchy with an unusual subject matter.
