The band that NME once declared as "the best live band we've ever seen," War was conceived by Eric Burdon and producer Jerry Goldsmith when they saw a group of musicians (formerly The Creators) at the  Rag Doll in North Hollywood. Burdon's post-Animals-work with War is some of his most memorable and enduring. Take that pearl.
