FEATURED TRACK: “Hairless Heart”

The Third Mind Movements & TGCD1 (Reissue)

Throbbing Gristle

The trailblazers of industrial music introduced TGCD1 in 1986, its first release for CD and now available on vinyl for the first time. Containing one 42-minute “song,” created on a TEAC 8-Track recorder. Reissued with 2009’s The Third Mind Movements (CD, DD, and vinyl LP), the two albums “capture the industrial titans at strikingly different moments in their career…” (Pitchfork)

FEATURED TRACK:

Terry Riley

Descending Moonshine Dervishes

Another pioneer in a very different musical setting, American composer Riley introduced his minimalistic approach in the mid 60s. In C (1964) and A Rainbow in Curved Air (1969) are milestones that influenced experimental and electronic music, and artists like Harold Budd and Brian Eno. Descending Moonshine Dervishes was recorded live in Berlin in 1975 and was remastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri in 2016.

The Moon and the Melodies (Vinyl Reissue)

Cocteau Twins and Harold Budd

Speaking of Harold Budd, his 1986 collaboration with members of the Cocteau Twins (though they were not billed as such) found the latter making more ethereal and atmospheric than even the customary sound that made them famous. This vinyl reissue was reissued on vinyl for the first time – remastered, from the original tapes, by Robin Guthrie.

FEATURED TRACK: "Why Do You Love Me?"

Dinosaur Jr.

Farm (Vinyl Reissue)

One of the early alt-rock bands, Dinosaur Jr. was founded by J. Mascis in 1984. The band made seven albums and built a strong following before tensions inside the group led to its dissolution. Reuniting in the early 2000s, Farm was the second released of the newly formed band. The reissue contains four  bonus tracks on limited edition lime-colored vinyl.
