Naked Giants Release The Shadow

Seattle trio Naked Giants unleashed its second album, The Shadow, on August 21 (New West). Grant Mullen (vocals, guitar) and Henry LaVallee (drums) had been friends since pre-school and began playing together in their teens. Performing as a duo for a while, they met Gianni Aiello (bass, vocals) and asked him to join the group.

After releasing the EP, R.I.P. in 2016, the band signed to New West Records. The full-length debut SLUFF followed in 2018.

The Shadow maintains the mix of fuzzy grunge-garage-punk rock. The record reminds some reviewers of the early 90s Sub Pop sound.

The trio celebrated its new album with a live-stream release party and will hopefully be able to tour in support of it when things return to normal. In the meantime, the group’s videos will have to suffice.
