When three buddies from Long Beach, CA decided to form a band, it wasn’t a huge surprise their genre of choice was surf-heavy garage/punk rock. Daniel Michicoff (bass/vocals), Chad Wachtel (guitar/vocals), and Phil Shaheen (drums/vocals) were friends as teenagers and have been playing together since the group’s inception. The trio issued its first EP in 2008 and is now releasing a sixth full-length album, Halfway to Eighty.

Produced by longtime collaborator Jonny Bell (Crystal Antlers, Chicano Batman, The Gun Club [reissue]), Hanni El Khatib, Lovely Bad Things, Rudy De Anda), the record was recorded at Bell’s Jazzcats Studio in Long Beach.
