The Feelies originally formed in New Jersey in 1976, but they are still touring and making records -- a testament to their enduring appeal. Their debut album, Crazy Rhythms, has been a part of my collection for many years (I first got it on white vinyl way back when), and it’s been on frequent rotation ever since. Citing the Velvet Underground as an influence, the group has been known for covering Velvet’s songs during their live shows. They’ve finally made it official and released Some Kinda Love, recorded at a 2018 show in NJ devoted to VU. They performed the featured track the last time I saw them, just a few years ago. Some kinds of love are better than others.
