The musicality of this album is a far cry from most hip hop fare currently doled out to the masses. Jazzy  R&B buoy the intensity of Dixon's vocal performance. Magic, Alive! Is a concept album centered around a narrative of three friends coping with the loss of a fourth. It's rare but exciting to hear a work with this level of dynamism.
