The inimitable lo-fi garage guru Kid Congo Powers returns with his latest release with the Pink Monkey Birds, the aptly titled That Delicious Vice. The veteran rocker has an illustrious career spanning decades and stints with the Gun Club, The Cramps, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Employing garage fare, at times laden with south-of-the-border sounds, Powers & Co. continue to bring offbeat tales to life in a playfully weird style. Powers’ new home in the desert seems to have made an impression as well.  It’s been a long eight years since the last Kid Congo record, but he always makes it worth the wait.
