The Dublin band Gurriers named its debut album, Come and See, after a dark and harrowing film about war. The group isn’t afraid to tackle thorny subjects like the deleterious effects of social media on our culture, organized religion, the rise of far right extremism in the West, and other serious topics. They do it with both energetic punk and more melodic, contemplative songs (like the featured track) in what the band calls its counterattack on the malaise of the modern age.
