How do you get a garage/country/folk band? You take a popular live sextet from Birmingham, AL, move them to Nashville, and let them hone a sound melded from whatever styles suit their purposes, and presto!

The group has evolved over the years, with personnel coming and going. Originally a duo formed by singer/guitarist Corey Parsons and singer/banjo player Stephen Pierce, playing acoustic sets around Birmingham. Over time the duo grew, adding vocalist Mary Beth Richardson whose soulful voice is a powerhouse whether singing a rocker or a ballad, lead guitarist Jerry Salter, bassist Danny Vines, and drummer Randy Wade. Between the group's first two albums and Right On, a bit of shifting around occurred when Vines left and Pierce took up bass duties.

The result has the critics happy: No Depression touts the group's “new voice” on the “free-roaming” new record, while Americana Highways goes further, “there is a lot of the rock and roll swagger that you’ve come to expect from the band, but there is so much more with the soul and psychedelic sounds. Every song is rock solid. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself listening to this album repeatedly. And loudly.”
