Venezuelan native Ane Díaz is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist now based in the U.S. Her debut album, Despechada, is a collection of reinterpreted folk songs from her home country, celebrating its culture and her cherished memories. The record is brimming with evocative vocals, dynamic percussion, and vibrant musical accompaniment. Diaz first triumphed with her debut EP Venezuela in 2018, gaining fans like REM’s Michael Stipe and Jonathan Richman. Now living in the US, Diaz chose the title to express her longing for home.
