To state that composer/producer/musician Adrian Younge is a prolific polymath is an understatement. He started out his career as a lawyer, at one point working for MTV. In the 90s, he began making music himself, scoring films, producing other artists, releasing solo work and co-founding the label Jazz is Dead with frequent collaborator Ali Shaheed Muhammad.  Working across genres like psychedelic soul and hip hop in the past, for his new album, Something About April III, he’s incorporated Brazilian Jazz and MBP (Modern Brazilian Pop) elements into the mix.
