Rachel Therrien is a trumpet player from Montreal who also can frequently be found in NYC or other parts south of the border. Visits to Cuba and Colombia have influenced her sound, which increasingly has moved into the realm of Latin jazz.

The award-winning musician, composer, and bandleader has earned the 2015 TD Grand Prize Jazz Award  from the Montreal Jazz Festival and Rising Star Award from 2016 Stingray Jazz. She's been nominated for other Canadian music awards as well. Working with large ensembles and more intimate affairs, Therrien has released seven albums.

The most recent, Mi Hogar II, finds Therrien on trumpet and flugelhorn in another ensemble outing. Critically well-received, Jazz Weekly hails the "sizzling collection…Picante pleasures." All About Jazz notes, "It is free from the usual constraints and clichés of style, genre, or tradition while remaining recognizably Latin jazz." Latin Jazz Net raves, "[it's] fiery and intense. Each song finds the brilliant horn player in her element, hitting her stride from the opening note"
